Did I Mention I am a Total CROW Freak?

Yes... I am in love with The Crow (1994) starring Brandon Lee.  I have seen this movie a million times, and it never gets old.  It is my number one favorite movie.  I love the setting of the the early 1990s urban culture in this film.  They plan on remaking The Crow and it is planned to be released in 2013. I am of course not happy about this.  To me, that is like remaking The Sound of Music or Wizard of Oz. It just shouldn't be done!

Here is the awesome original Trailer

Here is a great review (this video is long but the guy talking I'm pretty sure is my soul mate)

Sean Kingston "Beautiful Girls"

I know this song has been around for a while, but I just love the way it sounds.. For me, it is definitely one of those songs that can instantly put you in a different mood.

Cat Eye Sunglasses Rock!

Here I am in my favorite cat eye sunglasses that I got at Charming Charlie.  I love the cat eye shape because it is the only shape that looks good with the shape of my face.  Those over sized round sunglasses just always make me look like a bug... or like this.....  lol

Here is a picture of me so you know what my eyes look like :)

I Love Naked Palette

I Love Urban Decay's Naked Palette, because it is very natural and with some shimmer :) I bought this palette in July, and have used it every day since!

Here are the colors from left to right:

  • Virgin is a pale, shimmered nude beige. It’s very, very light, but it’s such a beautiful neutral. It’s a little frosty for a highlighter, particularly on darker skin tones, but it would make for a great all-over wash or pop of light on the inner tear duct. **** I USE THIS ONE A LOT****
  • Sin is a champagne with a touch of pink and a frostier finish. This shade is permanently available.
  • Naked is a matte medium beige-brown. It has a very soft, smooth texture–not at all powdery or chalky.
  • Sidecar is a shimmered, medium bronze brown with almost a red undertone. This shade was in the first edition of the Book of Shadows. (I didn’t see it on Urban Decay’s website at all.) ****I USE THIS ONE A LOT****
  • Buck is a matte darkened beige-brown. It’s really a darker version of Naked. It has the same silky smooth texture and rich color pay off of Naked, too.
  • Half Baked is a coppery bronze with a frost-metallic finish. This shade is permanently available.
  • Smog is a medium dark bronze with a gilded bronze sheen. This shade is permanently available.
  • Darkhorse is a darkened deep chocolate brown with flecks of bronze.
  • Toasted is a medium dark pinky brown with a shimmery finish. This shade is permanently available. **** I USE THIS ONE ALOT****
  • Hustle is a dark plummy chocolate brown with a soft shimmer finish. **** I USE THIS ONE A LOT****
  • Creep is a darkened blue-black base with silver and teal shimmer. Urban Decay said “onyx with gold glitter”
  • Gunmetal is a blue-gray metallic that really must be seen to be appreciated. It almost feels like a duochrome, because it flashes blue but it’s dark and smoldering. This shade is permanently available.
** Holly Tip** Check out the Naked Palette 2! it is very similar to the original, but is more matte and less shimmery!

Jonathan Queen

Jonathan Queen blew me away with his realism paintings last week when he visited my school.  All of his paintings revolve around the subject matter of antique toys, and his skill is remarkable.  These paintings look like photographs.. I am so Jelo (Green Jelo)

"Antiques, vintage objects, wooden boxes, and photos are the props I use to set the stage of my narrative paintings. Toys in the right setting become complex characters with a deeper story to tell. My influences come from classical painting, nature, literature, my family and my faith." (Jonathan Queen)

Here are some of my Favorites

If you are interested in seeing more of his amazing work click HERE to view his website :)

Alice + Olivia

Here are three of my favorite looks from Alice + Olivia Fall 2012 Ready to Wear  collection.  I Love the mod color blocking and their A-Line silhouettes. Enjoy!

Know that You're Worth it

This is for every woman that feels like they have been mentally for physically abused, not only by a man but by anyone.  Know that you are beautiful, and that you don't deserve to be treated any less than 100% amazing. Here is Eminem "I Love the Way you Lie"...  Not only can I relate to this song, but the video (featuring the gorgeous Megan Fox) brings up bad memories of my own past.. Know you're worth it.

I LOVE New Girl!

New Girl on Fox is one of my favorite shows on TV right now! Even though I am a total Zooey Deschanel fan, I think the men on the show create the more successful humor.  I Love Schmidt! Those are Some BIG Shades

These Huge Face Shielders were featured in Alexander McQueen's Fall Ready to Wear Collection.  I think they are super mysterious and cool!  However, I don't think we will see anyone wearing them on the street anytime soon.

ps... check out the belts, they are amazing.

Rose in Contrasting Colors

I do not claim to be a very good painter, in fact, I think I struggle with it.  However, I think this one turned out ok..

The ONLY Face Primer I will use = Hour Glass

Hour Glass face primer is the best primer I have ever used in my life. Yes, it is a bit on the expensive side, but you totally get your money's worth because it last for months and it works amazing! I can't use any other primer now because this one is by far the best!

Rock Out to Kimbra!

Kimbra has an amazing voice and style! I Love this sheer vintage black dress she wears in this video :)

Where Can We Get it?

Remember to NOT Wash your Hair Everyday!

Washing your hair daily is not a healthy move for your locks, especially if you have long hair.  The oil from the scalp needs time to condition the entire shaft of the hair, and the ends.  If you wash your hair everyday; you are not allowing for those natural oils to condition your hair.  Most Hair experts will tell you to wash your hair every two days.  However, I wash my hair once a week! Most people think this is super gross, but my hair never looks greasy because of my favorite Dry Shampoo!  Oscar Blandi Dry Shampoo is awesome because it does not leave that white residue that other brands do..

WARNING!: this is the bottle you want (The Brown One) The Yellow bottle DOES leave the white residue.  If you are blonde this may not be an issue for you, but if you have darker hair like me that residue sure is a pain, so go with the brown bottle!

(I Love This!)

(I would not suggest this one for dark hair)

(This is the bottle that contains the powder form, instead of the spray.  I have personally not used this one, but I would guess it is similar to baby powder)

*baby powder is also a great "dry shampoo," however you really need to make sure you brush it through your hair, or else it will look like you spray painted your hair white :(*

A Holly Must Have!

I Love Dark Kiss  from Bath & Bodyworks.  I always get complements when I wear this amazing fragrance. (and of course I love the packaging.. I am such a sucker for aesthetically pleasing packaging)

Where Does the Best Apple Martini Live?

Believe it or not, the answer to this question is Dave and Busters.  It was so yummy, plus they put crystal apple sugar around the rim that you can lick off (it kinda reminds me of  rock candy) So, if you're feeling like playing some arcade games and want a fancy drink this is the place for you!

Last Night Rock Bottom was my go to hangout because their amazing in-house brewed beer.  I rocked out the Queen of Hops, which I believe is a seasonal beer.  I also sampled the Brown Bear Brown, which is probably the best dark beer I have ever had in my life.. no lie.

The Newport Aquarium Makes for a Great Day

Yesterday I went to the Newport Aquarium! It had been forever since I'd been down there, and it really was a time!

Holly Tip: If you decide to go to the Newport Aquarium, you have to go to the Tom + Chee cafe that is right outside the Aquarium.  It is an amazing gourmet grilled cheese cafe, so if you love your self some grilled cheese and tomato soup, this is the place for you!  I got the Hippie Chee, which is grilled cheddar cheese with veggies and hummus.  It was delicious! I am telling you, check it out!
